Festive opening hours

christmas-presents-2023

When we are open during the festive season

We will be closed on bank holidays – Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 December 2024 and Wednesday 1 January 2025.

We will be open at our usual time on all the other days (Friday 27 December 2024, Monday 30 December 2024, Tuesday 31 December 2024 and Thursday 2 January 2025).

Anima will close at 12pm noon on Tuesday 24 December and Tuesday 31 December, and will re-open at the usual time of 8am to 6pm the next working day.

If you have any medical concerns that cannot wait until we re-open, it is important to know how you can get help during the holiday period.

Prescription medication

Please make sure that you have enough prescription medication left. You can order a repeat prescription when you have a 10-day supply remaining. Keep in mind that it may take up to 72 hours for your prescription to be processed by us and your preferred pharmacy will require additional time to dispense it.

Please make sure you order your repeat prescription by Thursday 19 December 2024 to enable us to process it before Christmas holidays (please note this does not include dispensing).

You can get an emergency supply of medication from an NHS Pharmacist over a bank holiday by contacting NHS 111 or visiting a community pharmacy.

Emergencies

In case of emergencies or serious, life-threatening conditions (such as severe bleeding, breathing difficulties, severe chest pain, or loss of consciousness), always call A&E/999.

Find your nearest A&E Department.

Non-life-threatening emergencies

For non-life-threatening emergencies, you can use the NHS 111 service (for people aged over five) or by calling 111. Use NHS 111.

This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Self-care

Self-care is the best choice for treating minor illnesses and injuries such as coughs, colds, grazes, small cuts, or a sore throat. These can often be managed at home or in holiday accommodation with over-the-counter medicines and plenty of rest

Pharmacist services

Pharmacists can provide advice and treatment for conditions like hay fever, diarrhoea, earache, painful cough, sticky eye, teething, and rashes. Your local community pharmacy can issue emergency repeat medication without a GP prescription. You can call 111 or visit NHS 111 for further assistance.

Find your nearest pharmacy using the NHS Find a Pharmacy tool.

Minor injuries

For minor injuries, use services like Minor Injury Units and Walk-in Centres.

Always check local arrangements.
